Geographic Origin

Nashik (Niphad, Dindori, Chandwad talukas) and Sangli districts, Maharashtra — the same Nashik origin as our export onion, different farming networks. Nashik dominated India's ₹3,040 Cr grape export in 2025. Netherlands (₹1,457 Cr) receives the largest volume, re-exporting into European retail chains; UK, Russia, and Gulf markets are secondary. EU pesticide MRL screening at entry ports is the primary compliance risk for Indian grape exporters — a batch MRL test report is essential for every shipment.

Nashik and Sangli districts in Maharashtra account for the overwhelming majority of India's table grape exports. The combination of the Deccan Plateau's semi-arid climate (high diurnal temperature variation for natural sweetness development), established irrigation, and 30+ years of export-oriented farming infrastructure makes Nashik the default origin for Thompson Seedless and Sonaka — the two varieties preferred by European retail buyers for consistent Brix and shelf life.

Indian grapes face rigorous MRL scrutiny in EU/UK. The EU applies EC Regulation 396/2005 pesticide MRL limits — grapes are on the list of high-residue-risk crops. Every shipment requires a pesticide multi-residue MRL test report (GCMS/LCMS, accredited lab). UK requires a similar MRL test post-Brexit. GLOBALG.A.P. farm certification is commonly required by EU/UK supermarket buyers — confirm with your buyer whether they need farm-level GLOBALG.A.P. We arrange for certified farms.

No — India's table grape export window is genuinely January–April only (peak February–March). This is not a logistics or storage issue — it's agronomic. Outside this window, Nashik grapes are not ready for harvest. If you need year-round supply, you would need to dual-source from a Southern Hemisphere origin (Peru, South Africa, Chile) for the off-season. We can only supply Indian grapes Jan–Apr.

GLOBALG.A.P. is a farm-level certification verifying Good Agricultural Practice (pesticide records, worker safety, traceability). It is not legally mandatory for EU/UK entry — but major European retail chains (Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Carrefour) require it as a supplier condition. If your buyer is a European supermarket chain, assume GLOBALG.A.P. is required; if your buyer is a wholesale distributor or processor, check their specific requirements.
