Harvest Cycle & Availability
When It's Harvested
Unlike seasonal crops, banana is perennial — the plant fruits continuously with staggered regrowth cycles. First harvest 9–12 months after planting; subsidiary stems fruit every 4–6 months from the same root system. Jalgaon's irrigated belt runs these cycles year-round without a gap. The practical constraint isn't availability — it's reefer booking. Transit: India to Gulf 5–7 days, to Europe 18–22 days. Plan orders with 3–4 week lead time for vessel booking and container loading.
Year-round
Perennial crop — first harvest ~9–12 months after planting, then ongoing cycles. Staggered plantings enable rolling dispatch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Buyer Questions, Answered
Grand Naine is a Cavendish sub-clone selected for uniformity, longer finger length (20–24cm), and good shelf life — the dominant variety globally for modern retail supply chains. India, like Ecuador and the Philippines, has standardised on Grand Naine for export due to its consistent size grading and transit performance. Inferior Cavendish clones (shorter, less uniform) exist in India's domestic market but are not exported.
Iraqi (₹2,047 Cr) and Gulf demand for Indian bananas is driven by proximity (5–10 day transit by sea or road/air), price competitiveness, and cultural familiarity. EU and UK supermarkets source primarily from Ecuador and the Dominican Republic — a well-established supply chain. India's opportunity in the Gulf is based on freshness advantage from shorter transit, not on price alone vs. Central America.
VHT (Vapor Heat Treatment) disinfestation is a quarantine treatment required by importing countries (Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, others) as a condition for entry of fresh fruit — to prevent fruit fly introduction. India's APEDA-registered export facilities are VHT-certified for banana. If your importing country requires VHT, specify it on your order and we'll confirm facility availability. For standard Gulf/Iraq trade, VHT is not required.
Standard MOQ: 1×20ft reefer FCL. Payment: 60% advance + 40% against BL copy. Terms improve — 50/50 on second, 40/60 on third. LC at sight for repeat buyers. Reefer containers are booked 2–3 weeks ahead — factor this into your lead time planning.
Quality Assurance
Our Commitment
Every banana shipment undergoes size grading, visual inspection for latex staining and bruising, and VHT (Vapor Heat Treatment) certification for fruit-fly disinfestation where required by the importing country.
